Before you go
Missing ID or a voter card?
You do not need a voter card to vote. If your ID does not show your current Waterloo address, you can sign a declaration at the voting place.
Already on the voters’ list but have no ID? You can sign a Declaration of Identity at the voting place.
Not on the list? You can apply to be added until voting closes on October 26. Bring proof of eligibility and ask election staff for help.
Am I eligible?
You must be a Canadian citizen, at least 18 on election day, and not prohibited from voting. You must live in Waterloo, or you or your spouse must personally own or rent property here.
Need help voting?
Ask an election worker for help. Contact the City in advance if you need an accommodation or assistive voting technology.
Can’t vote in person?
Vote at Home: If illness, injury, disability or restricted mobility makes it unreasonably difficult to attend, you may qualify for a home visit. Request an appointment by October 13.
You may appoint an eligible Waterloo voter to vote for you by proxy. Complete the City’s form and have it certified by the Clerk before they vote.
